Stolen Fire Truck Causes Chaos In Everett: Police Seek Suspect

Authorities are on the lookout for an individual who stole a fire truck in Washington state last week on Friday night, leaving behind a path of destruction and damaged vehicles. The Everett Fire Department’s truck was taken from the 2900 block of Hoyt Avenue while firefighters were attending to a medical emergency on the fifth floor of an apartment building, according to an update shared on Facebook Saturday morning.

The truck was reported missing shortly after 11 p.m. when police received the first 911 call about a nearby hit-and-run incident. Witnesses informed the police that the fire truck had “struck two parked cars at a high speed before fleeing the scene.”

The Everett Police Department quickly responded to multiple locations, documenting damage at least six sites involving parked cars, trees, directional signs, and grass, as reported by the fire department. Fortunately, no injuries were reported across any of the affected areas.

Images shared by the fire department depict the aftermath, showcasing totaled vehicles, a downed street sign, and debris scattered across the streets. The stolen fire truck, a 2018 Pierce Enforcer Pumper weighing approximately 35,000 pounds, sustained “significant damage” and has been impounded for investigation purposes. This truck was one of the newer additions to the department’s fleet, and its substantial weight poses unique dangers when in motion. The driver remains unidentified, and the investigation is ongoing.

The severely damaged 2018 Pierce Enforcer pumper, valued between Rs 4 crore and Rs 8 crore, has been taken out of service.
