Arrest Made In Connection with June Robbery Of Rapper Macklemore’s Capitol Hill Home

Seattle police announced the arrest of a suspect linked to the robbery of rapper Macklemore’s residence in Capitol Hill, which occurred in June. The man, a 29-year-old from Renton, Washington, whose identity has not been disclosed, is anticipated to face criminal charges related to the home invasion and theft in the upcoming days.

The arrest took place following a separate robbery investigation in Seattle. Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on August 21, leading to his apprehension. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving Seattle police, the King County Sheriff’s Office, and the Renton Police Department. These agencies have been actively looking into a series of high-profile burglaries that have targeted celebrities and professional athletes in the area.

As part of the investigation, authorities traced stolen items back to a jewelry store located in south Seattle, where several pieces taken from Macklemore’s home, along with items from other recent burglaries, were recovered.

The robbery at Macklemore’s home occurred on June 7. At that time, the rapper’s 22-year-old nanny reported to 911 that two men had entered the home through an unlocked door and assaulted her with bear spray. Notably, Macklemore’s three young children were asleep in their beds during the incident, raising concerns about their safety.

The suspects made off with a significant haul of personal belongings, including a distinctive Seattle Sounders ring engraved with the owner’s name. Macklemore is known to be a minority owner of the Seattle Sounders soccer team, and he has prominently displayed his MLS Cup ring in various music videos. In one of his tracks, he famously raps, “I was supposed to be a one-hit ringer, now I’ve got too many rings and not enough fingers,” highlighting his connection to the team.
