They care mostly about profit in my opinion because CTE is real. They keep a lot of that out of the media but when you have players willing to do certain things and knowing the risk, it’s hard to judge at that point.

The NFL is a business and all business in a capitalist society is about profit, no matter the product. If the players are willing to risk life and limb for the dollar, I assure you the owners will turn a blind eye to those risks. It is only when the players take a stand for their health will things change for the betterment of all involved.
Zak Heaton…
It’s the nature of both games, the money game and football game. Owners can careless about the health and longevity of a player’s career. One can go down and there will be another to take his place as long as they are getting paid. As long as there are bodies to sacrifice for the good of the game, shareholders are going to continue to get paid and the that’s the bottom line for them.
Adriel Smith…
The NFL is a money making machine. All involved are willing participants – both owners and players. It doesn’t matter if the owners care or not if the players are willing to participate. Business is about money and the NFL is one of the largest money making entities in America. Do you really think them cats are going to give up their bread just cause some employees complain about the working conditions? They haven’t in the past and I don’t think they care in the present.
Paul Taylor…
The NFL, in my opinion, is no different from any other business. When it comes to the owners and their shareholders profit is the bottom line. American capitalism is all about the bottom line. America’s business plan is the cheaper the labor the better when it comes to dividends. The players, if it really is an issue regarding injury, need to speak up in relations to the schedule. It seems that Thursday game puts a burden on players recovery between games leaving them injury prone. But the owners, no they can care less.

I am football fan in the sense of soccer, but American football with it’s violent tendancies are injuries waiting to happen. Regardless if the owners care or not, injury is apart of the sport. Maybe more emphasis should be put on the well-being of the players if the sport is to survive and maintain the quality of players needed to be successful. But, in business the dollar has the last word.
