Trump Sets Deadline On Iran Strait Standoff

President Trump appears to have set a new deadline for Iran to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, posting on social media: “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!” Trump has threatened to bomb key Iranian infrastructure, including power plants if Iran does not comply with his demands to reopen the key shipping lane.

The threats come as Trump is expected to hold a 1pET press conference at the White House about the daring rescue of a U.S. airman who was shot down over Iran evaded capture for more than a day. Dozens of people have been killed in recent days as both sides traded airstrikes, including 13 people in a US-Israeli attack on two residential buildings and 2 people in a residential building in Haifa, Israel.
