The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, in collaboration with the Tacoma Police Department Special Investigations Unit, executed a search warrant Feb. 21 at an unlicensed cannabis operation known as the Attick, located at 525 Puyallup Ave. in Tacoma.
Under Washington law, cannabis may only be sold at state-licensed retail locations.
Investigators conducted multiple undercover purchases during the investigation and were able to buy illicit cannabis products from several vendors operating inside the building.
According to authorities, the Attick functioned as a structured retail operation despite lacking a license. Customers checked in at a counter where identification was scanned and an Attick identification card was created. Punch cards were used to encourage repeat business. After check-in, customers were directed to a large room containing 12 vendor tables where illicit cannabis products were displayed and sold.
Additional cannabis products were stored and manufactured on the second floor of the building. A separate room was also set up for cannabis use.
The operation resulted in the seizure of substantial quantities of cannabis products and related items, including:
• 42,366 grams of edibles
• 63,639 grams of concentrates and distillate
• 186,154 grams of flower
• 12,066 grams of mixed cannabis items
• 2,087 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
• Four cannabis clones
• $11,235 in cash
• One firearm
Thirteen individuals were arrested by the Tacoma Police Department for violations of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
