Syndicated radio talk-show host Warren Ballentine will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Black Press Breakfast to take place this Fri, Mar. 14 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Mount Zion Church located at 1634 – 19th Ave. (Rev. Dr. S. McKinney Ave.) in Seattle.

Recently Recognized in Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 List of some of the most influential Blacks, Warren Ballentine has galvanized millions of People to not just complain, but to take action to solve problems. Using the power of radio, Ballentine has championed and led the call for action for the JENA 6 movement and called for the National Economic Blackout, and the National Community Reinvestment Day, among other Nationwide initiatives.

“The Black Press has always been about the empowerment of our community,” said Chris H. Bennett, chairman of The Seattle Medium Newspaper Group and the Z-Twins radio stations. “Warren Ballentine has used his media platform to make a difference in this country. He is a prime example of why we need the Black Press, so that we can continue to fight the battles for those who don’t have the resources to fight for themselves.”

In commemoration of Black Press Month, The Seattle Medium Newspaper Group and the Z-Twins radio stations will host their annual Black Press Breakfast. This year’s event will also serve as a fundraiser for the “Save Our Voice Campaign” – a community to save the only African American owned and operated radio stations in the Pacific Northwest (1420 KRIZ, 1560 KZIZ, 1620 KYIZ and 1480 KBMS).
