What Is The Most Pressing Political Issue For You Related To The Upcoming Election?

LaCretiah:
“The pressing issue for me as a Black woman is economic prosperity, whether that involves lowering inflation significantly so my dollar can stretch further, or funding programs and services that help communities I care about. It’s also about removing barriers and red tape to all of that funding that is available to us. That is economic prosperity too. Give us the key to the door and we will walk right through that bad boy and know what to do.”

Jamila:
“The pressing issue for me is basic human rights. The right to healthcare, the right to a living wage, the right to housing—all of these things are on the ballot, so make sure you vote the right way.”

Leighton:
“The pressing issue for me is definitely beating Donald Trump and then continuing the work that has been done over the last 40-50 years toward prosperity for all. Equalizing the playing field for all people, Black, White, no matter what your color is, and trying to reverse the last few years of policies Donald Trump tried to put in place by rolling back the things we’ve been doing for the last 50 years. This includes putting in a conservative Supreme Court that has rolled back all kinds of rights for women, for people of color. So yes, the most pressing thing for me is to beat Donald Trump.”

George:
“The most pressing political issues for me during this upcoming election would be the rising inflation rate, the current high cost of living, and the long-lasting and growing racial wealth gap.”

Biné:
“A pressing political issue for me is the healthcare issue we have in America. The lack of insurance coverage and the extremely high costs are very unreasonable for those in need who are potentially seeking out care for life-threatening issues. Many people do not sign up for health insurance because of the costs, and Medicare faces a lot of financial challenges because of the rising costs.”

Kevin:
“I am very politically aware, so I already know how I feel about the upcoming election. I don’t really think there is a most pressing political issue for me regarding the election. I think for many people the party platforms of both parties, the bloodshed in Palestine and Ukraine, and the health of both candidates are some of the biggest concerns. One thing that stands out to me are some of the recent rulings of the SCOTUS, and I am curious what role they may play in the future.”
