Mount Zion’s Women’s Ministry Marks 84 Years With Faith And Wellness Workshop

Baptist Church Women’s Ministry invites the community to an inspiring workshop as part of the Women’s Ministry’s 84th Anniversary Celebration,  

The workshop, which will take place on February 28, 2026, from 9:00 am to noon, will focus on the theme Empowering Women in Faith through Praise and Prayer. Two panels will be presented, one featuring several of the “Top Docs” in our community who will share ways prayer and praise can enrich your health and spiritual well-being. The Call to Action Panel will discuss ways to improve your life and the lives of our children and community.

An abundance of local talent from the fields of mental and physical health, religion, education, music, social services, and civic action, including Dr. Phyliss Gearing-Anderson, Dr. Wendy Barrington, Rev. Dr. Phyllis Beaumonte, Bishop Dr. Gwendolyn Phillips-Coates, Dr. Anita Connell, Dr. Gloria Richard Davis, Rev. Romanita Hairston, Rev. Dr. Julie Vaughn, Rev. Shirley Lytle, Mattie Taplin, Rita Bruce, MBA, Candace Cooper, MSW, LICSW, Candace Jackson, Krystal McKinney, MSW, LICSW, Jameka Nelson, Eudora Carter, and DeVitta Briscoe, are among the panelist and presenters.

Wellness information will be provided by NCNW Good Health Wins, the Center for Multicultural Health, African American Reach and Teach, and the Mount Zion Health Ministry. A hosted continental breakfast will complete this impactful morning.

The anniversary celebration is grounded in the scriptures Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 31:30 and reflects the ministry’s continued commitment to faith, empowerment and service.
