Fundraiser For Desmond Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Desmond Jackson
Desmond Jackson

The family of Desmond Jackson — who was murdered on February 12, 2012 — is inviting the community to attend their third annual fundraising dinner and silent auction to raise funds for a scholarship fund named in his honor. The event will take place this Sat., Nov. 21 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 1634 – 19th Ave. in Seattle.

According to Jackson’s family, Desmond was a young man who was determined to make a difference in the world, but didn’t have that opportunity due to his untimely death. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help provide scholarships to deserving young men who are in need of financial assistance to complete their college education. The scholarship will be awarded through Seattle Central College, where Desmond was a student at the time of his death.  A total seven scholarships have already been awarded in Desmond’s name.

To date, no arrests have been made in the shooting death of Desmond Jackson.
