
Arleatha Marie Strothers Calloway, a beloved presence known for strength, warmth and unwavering faith in God, died March 31, 2026, shortly after celebrating a 61st birthday.
Born to Leslie H. Strothers Sr. and Abbie M. Strothers, both preceded Arleatha in death. Arleatha was also preceded in death by sons Antonio D. Aaron and Terrell D. Aaron.
Arleatha was best known for infectious humor and a rare ability to make everyone feel welcome. A loving spirit bridged gaps and created a sense of family for all in Arleatha’s presence, regardless of circumstance.
Arleatha is survived by children Tia Anderson (husband Naqeeb), Teri Jeffries, Abbie Jeffries-Pierce (wife Kaliyah), Terry Jeffries Jr. (wife Lanisha), and Asia Jeffries; niece/daughter Leslie Neal-Thomas (husband Antoine); brothers Leslie H. Strothers Jr. and Mataeo C. Strothers (wife Temeatris); sister Shurail K. Bletson (husband Harrison); and a host of grandchildren.
A legacy of love and unity lives on through children and grandchildren. Arleatha’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved Arleatha.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Return Home in Auburn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Garden of Gethsemane Church in Skyway. A repast will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Royal Esquire.
