Barbara Laners earned a J.D. in 1973 from University of Washington School of Law. She completed her undergraduate work in political science at University of Washington. Laners is an experienced litigator in Washington State. Her specialties include youth advocacy in the King County Juvenile Court system. Her areas of expertise include law, public policy, political science, civil rights, and Pacific Northwest History. She has been a visitor to The Evergreen State College – Tacoma program since 2000. Her community activities include youth charity work and community development activities. She is the past host of the popular Community Potpourri radio show on 1420 AM KRIZ, 1560 AM KZIZ and 1620 AM KYIZ am.
