Auditions For African American Actors And Actresses

BROWNBOX Theatre, an emerging African American theatre company, announces auditions for the 2005-2006 season. Artistic Director Tyrone Brown has selected a diverse and inspiring season of programming to launch the company’s 1st season. Five productions and three special events will be presented from September 2005 to July 2006, including participation in a national theatre festival in the summer of 2006. BROWNBOX is seeking African American actors and actresses representing a variety of ages, experiences, and backgrounds. Ideal candidates should have some acting experience, enjoy movement, be open to improvisation, and be able to make a full commitment to the creative process. We will not be auditioning young actors [16 and under] at this time. There will be two opportunities to audition on Friday, July 29, 2005. Session 1 is from 6:00 – 7:00,and Session 2 is from 7:00 – 8:00 at the Velocity Dance Center, third floor in Studio #3 – 915 East Pine Street, one block east of Seattle Central Community College. This will be a group audition consisting of a brief interview, a cold reading from the scripts, and some movement. We ask that you please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to fill out audition form, wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and if possible provide an 8″x10″ head-shot and current creative resume.
