The Benson Bruins 9U team started slowly but finished strong in a dominant 32-0 shutout over the C2C Rams. Johzias “JB” Failautusi had a field day, rushing for 178 yards and four touchdowns while also hauling in a 45-yard touchdown reception to lead the Bruins’ offensive explosion.

Failautusi opened the game with a 3-yard touchdown run and added a 32-yard score before halftime to give Benson a 13-0 lead at the break. In the second half, quarterback Liam Brown connected with Aaron McKnight Jr. on a 4-yard touchdown pass to stretch the lead. Failautusi’s receiving score came on a deep strike, and he capped the game with his fifth total touchdown—a short 3-yard run following a defensive fumble recovery.

Benson’s defense was relentless throughout the game, holding the Rams scoreless and shutting down big-play opportunities. Kainoa Ongque led the way with multiple tackles, and Sio Ohi came up big with two touchdown-saving stops that kept C2C out of the end zone. The Bruins’ defensive unit consistently disrupted C2C’s rhythm and shut down drives before they could develop.

With contributions on both sides of the ball, the Bruins improved their standing and showcased their depth and discipline. Bless Austin-Curry, Jaxson Shandil, and Jeremiah Sii all added rushing yards to help control the clock and seal the victory.

The Benson Bruins 11U Pull Up Boyz played a well-rounded game on Sunday, earning a 50-0 win over the C2C Rams. The Bruins showed excellent teamwork on both offense and defense, scoring early and keeping the Rams off the board throughout the game.

Tyree Bellinger scored the game’s first touchdown in the opening quarter, followed by a successful point-after kick from Ohi Hoopii-Tupito. From there, the Bruins found their rhythm, with touchdowns from Tommy Leaupepe, Noah Reese, Ryan Cruz, and Kingston Bates helping build a big lead by halftime. Bellinger added a second touchdown, and Jacob Tupou later broke free for a 60-yard run in the fourth quarter. Hoopii-Tupito was perfect on all six of his PAT attempts.

On defense, the Bruins kept steady pressure on the Rams and made several big plays. Peyton Taito led the defense with three interceptions, earning recognition as the team’s Defensive MVP. With strong tackling and smart positioning, the Bruins kept the Rams from gaining momentum and protected their shutout all four quarters.

The win reflects the Bruins’ continued growth as a team, with players on both sides of the ball contributing to a fun and successful outing.
