Brooks To Keynote Southern U. Alumni Scholarship Luncheon

Ivory DuBois Brooks, interim principal at Rainier Beach High School and 1997 graduate of HBCU Jackson State University, will be the guest speaker for the annual Southern University (SU), Puget Sound Alumni Chapter, Student Support Fund Scholarship Luncheon. Brooks will address his educational journey and the role of HBCUs in the higher education success of African American students.

For the past 43 years, the Puget Sound Chapter of the SU Alumni Association has awarded over $140,000 in renewal funds to the students from the Puget Sound region. The current student awardees receive up to $3,000 in annual scholarship support during their tenure at one of the three SU campuses.

Join the Alumni Association and Student Support fund winners on Sun., June 12 at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton, Southcenter from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
