Julian Fleming Hunter was born May 19, 1935 to Mrs. Ivernia C. Hunter and Mr. Wallace Alvin Hunter in Longview, TX. Julian was the youngest of six siblings.  

Lanetta Tiokasin was born November 9th, 1946 in Tallulah, Louisiana to the union of Beatrice Lexing and James Lee McIntosh. Lanetta was the first born out of nine children. She was raised by her grandmother in South Central, Los Angeles.

At an early age, Alice Yvonne (Lowery) Thomas, who was baptized in Kansas City, Missouri at the Second Baptist Church, would grow to become a gifted, compassionate, Christian professional. 

After quietly battling heart issues for many years, Lois W. English-Sherman transitioned peacefully to the other side on October 8, 2022. She was 86 years old. Legally named Wilhelmina Lois (English) Sherman, Lois was born January 1, 1936, to parents Charles Allen English and Lois Eunice Berry in Middleville, Michigan. Lois was one of 7 children from their union.

Anthony Donnell Brown was born at Swedish Providence Hospital in Seattle, Washington on January 6, 1972 to Loretta M. Thomas and Charles C. Brown. Brown was a true Central District kid. He grew up on the corner of 24th & Marion and attended Madrona Elementary School and Meany Middle School

Harrison (Dickie) Ward passed away on August 31, 2022 at the age of 84. 

Christian Ezekiel Williams, Jr. passed away on August 3, 2022.

In 2014, Candace Smiley opened her salon, MzTwist Artistry Studio. She was a natural hair educator-extraordinaire and branded the "fastest hands in Washington."

Patrinell “Pat” Staten Wright was born in Carthage Texas to the late Haru (Butler) Staten and Pastor Alton Staten, Sr. on January 16, 1944. Their union produced eight children – Patrinell, Alton Staten, Annie Laura Peterson, Ora Lee Kimbrough, Carrie B. Williams, John Staten, Gregory Staten and Gerald Ruth Staten.
