Cierra Sisters To Host Celebration Of Life After A Cancer Diagnosis Event

Cierra Sisters and the Seattle Parks Dept. will hold their Celebration Of Life After A Cancer Diagnosis at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 13 at the Rainier Beach Community Center – 8825 Rainier Ave. S. in Seattle.

This event will give cancer survivors, family members, friends and caregivers the opportunity to celebrate amongst other survivors while being inspired by the innovative new treatments that have prolonged life for many that have been diagnosed with cancer.

Featured guest speakers include world-renowned Oncologist Dr. Julie Gralow; activist, lawyer and spoken word artist Nikkita Oliver; Tabernacle Mime Team directed by Debra Kennedy; Nurturing Potential Nelson Brewer Health and well-being director YMCA of Pierce AND Kitsap Counties and more…

The celebration of life luncheon will support cancer survivors, caregivers, and family members in the Greater Seattle Area.

The event will begin at 10:30 A.M for networking and health related resources, and the main program will begin at 12 noon. The event is free. Cierra Sisters has served our community for over twenty-two years. Our mission is to bring knowledge and to take the fear out of a cancer diagnosis with providing resources to African-Americans and the underserved communities concerning breast cancer/cancer, along with other health related issues to create a new reality of cancer survivorship.
