“I feel it could have been handled a lot differently, and you can’t just ignore that. There has to be some accountability or responsibility in some way, and I think they just needed a fall guy.”
“I think she handled it wrong. She just doesn’t have the experience, so she’s learning as she goes. We are going to have a lot of disagreements on how she handles her policies in the city because she doesn’t know, and I don’t know if she has a voice of reason that she listens to, but they didn’t give her any suggestions on this last one.”

“If it was the right thing to do to move us in the right direction, then fine, but I don’t really know if the incident at the Bite of Seattle had anything to do with a police-type shooting. They did what they could do to handle it and get it under control.”
“My initial thought was that she kind of jumped the gun a little bit, but that was because I didn’t know too much about what the reason for the outrage really was. It seemed like it was getting more backlash from the communities of color that were basically making it seem like there was some kind of racial motivation behind it. I don’t believe that to be true. But then I also found out later on that he doesn’t actually reside in the state, and that’s where he was operating from at the time when all of this was going on. So, I feel like that may have been a little bit of where the backlash came from on her end. But also, at the same time, I felt like, with you as the mayor, you should be in tune with what’s going on with what your police chief is doing and where your police chief is at all times. There is more than enough blame to go around for all parties involved.”
“She needs to really just look in the mirror and take a look at herself. She needs to evaluate herself really thoroughly before she just starts addressing other issues about other people. The issues that she is addressing, to be quite frank, I think she should have addressed before the man was hired, as far as him being fired.”
