City Of Renton Seeks Candidates For Human Services Advisory Committee

The City of Renton is seeking three residents to serve on the Human Services Advisory Committee. The committee currently has three openings, two for adults and one for a youth member. Youth members must be between 15 and 20 years of age. 

The committee works to understand human service needs of city residents, then evaluates solutions and makes recommendations to the mayor, city council and city staff regarding the funding of specific programs and projects that meet those needs. 

Renton residents who represent the diverse nature of the city, including ethnicity, geography, gender, and age are encouraged to apply. Members are appointed by the mayor and serve a three-year term. The term will start in 2019. 

Committee members serve without compensation and must be United States citizens who have been residents of Renton for at least three years immediately preceding their appointment. They must be registered to vote in King County and able to attend meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. at Renton City Hall.

Applications can also be downloaded and returned or mailed to the City of Renton, Mayor’s Office, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on December 15, 2018.
