Press ReleaseRoyal Esquire Club Awards 2004 Scholarships From left to right: Mark Williams, name 1, name2, Helen Sawyer (grandmother), name3, name4 (mother), name5, name6 – in back – mother, name7, Scharry Pinkney, and Vince HayesThe Royal Esquire Club presented scholarships awards of $500 each to five area students selected as the 2004 Annual Scholarship winners at the recent general membership meeting. The five deserving students receiving the awards are:Mr. Toneil Pinckney: a graduated of South Lake High School. He is currently attending Sacramento City College, in Sacramento, Calif. While in high school, Toneil was an active participant in various schools and community services events including Student Government, Varsity Sports (football) The National Food Drive, Adopt a Grandparent Program. In addition, He wrote an outstanding essay about the impact his mother (Scharry Pinkney) has had on his life. Ms. Shantel Hays: A graduate of Seattle Vocational Institute’s Career Link Program. She has worked with young children in the community in areas of music and is an outstanding basketball playerMs. Creseta Gilbert : currently attending Seattle Community College seeking a Nursing Degree. Creseta also works full time as a Medical Assistant at Group Health Hospital in addition to attending classes at night. She graduated from Apollo College in Oregon where she trained to be a Medical Assistant, maintaining a Grade Point Average of 3.9. Ms. Gilbert plans to attend Seattle University next year. Her goal is to eventually work with the elderly.Ms. Erica Daniels: currently attending the Univ. of Washington. Erica is the daughter of Melinda Hubbard. She had an outstanding high school career at Garfield High School. Erica plans to major in Education and return to the community to assist other young African-American students.Mr. Clayton Dadushin: graduated from Garfield High School. Clayton currently attends Seattle Central Community College. His high school activities included Sigma Beta Club, Track and Field, and volunteer community service.
