“I say that it kind of depends on the intensity of it. I think sometimes the home environment where the children come from is a big part of it. Sometimes it’s the motivation. Maybe it’s an act against their parents, rebelling against their parents. Maybe it’s something personal at school or, I don’t know, I’m just thinking of a school incident. But I don’t think they should be held legally responsible, but I do think that they are somewhat responsible because it’s their kid. The way that their kid is brought up is also how they present themselves to the world. And I think that plays a big part in whatever they do.”

“No. I think if parents try to raise their children with values, morals, and faith, they make their own decisions when they reach a certain age. So, I don’t think you can charge the parents for the decisions that they make as they get older because I think it’s all on the young people. Minors, it just depends. To some extent, yes, when they reach 16, 17, and 18, because they definitely know the difference.”

“On one side, I feel, yes, they should, simply because they may not have disciplined their children in the way that they should have been disciplined, like when I grew up. But on the other hand, the government doesn’t want parents to parent the way they did back when we were young because it kept us out of trouble. So, you can’t blame parents for not being able to discipline their kids when the government is telling you that you can’t discipline your kids.”

“I think every child’s situation is different. I think there are good parents out there who just need extra support. And that’s my insight.”

“I think parents should be held accountable and be responsible for their minors doing violent crimes because, at the end of the day, as a parent, it’s your job to raise and bring up your kids the right way. You have to have some type of oversight, overwatch on their day-to-day lives and their activities. So, for something to go under your radar, that reflects you as a parent and your lax supervision, which could affect other people.”

“I feel like parents should be held legally responsible if their minor child commits a crime like a mass murder because there have to be some sort of signs there, and you just got to watch your kids better. If they have phones, be in their phones. If they’re on social media, I don’t feel like they should be till they are basically grown, but if they’re gonna have it, you have to just be in their business because you’re the parent and they’re the child.”
