“I would say there’s been a decline, and I think that’s purposeful on the part of our current federal administration to kind of encourage media companies to take a step back from the progress they were making, and it feels like we’ve kind of gone back to just having one token Black person in friend groups and shows, and oftentimes they end up being the token Black and gay person, all in one, so they can say they checked every DEI box. And I really think that there needs to be more stories that are really just focused around Black people.”
“I would say that there’s definitely an improvement from before, like from years before, but there should still be more. That’s the answer.”

“I think there was a decline in Black representation in the media, especially what we’ve seen so far with Black journalists getting fired or let go from some of those shows, you know, like MSNBC and CNN, some of those journalists getting fired or let go due to some reason we don’t know. So, I believe there is a decline in Black representation in the media.”
“In my opinion, I’d say that I think it’s okay, but it could be better. Yeah. In a nutshell, that’s all I gotta say. It’s okay, but it can be better. I think we’re doing okay compared to previous years, but I think there’s still more room for improvement.”
“I think it has declined, especially internationally, because the media doesn’t really show what most Black people are accomplishing in the world and covers the worst part of Black people, for example, like gun violence or like shooting and stuff. But Black people that are doing good things, they don’t really show.”
