Dwayne L. Christopher Sworn-in As Tacoma Municipal Court Judge

Tacoma Municipal Court Judge Dwayne L. Christopher was sworn-in on Mon., Jan. 14 at the County City Building in Tacoma.

Christopher previously served as a Pro-Tem Judge prior to being elected to the Court in November. As a Pro-Tem Judge, Christopher earned an outstanding reputation for his willingness to ensure that each party in his Courtroom can present their case.

Christopher, a lifelong resident of Pierce County, is a proud son of educators who retired from the Tacoma School District. In addition, Christopher has been a volunteer and mentor in the community for many years.

The Tacoma Municipal Court hears cases of alleged violations of City of Tacoma Ordinances, which can include criminal charges, criminal traffic offenses, traffic and parking infractions.

Christopher will preside over hearings in courtroom 134.
