Hubert Williams transitioned to glory on August 24, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. He was born on June 15, 1954 to the union of the late James Edward and Bessie Lou Williams of Keysville, Georgia. Both parents preceded him in death.

Williams spent his early childhood growing up in Waynesboro, Georgia where he attended Blakeney Elementary School and Blakeney and Waynesboro public high schools. He was a member of the Class of 1972.
Williams was employed by the Telemedia Cable Company of Waynesboro, Georgia in the early ‘80’s as a cable technician. He later moved to Seattle, Washington and was employed by Tiloben Publishing Company as a printing press operator and rose to the position of Lead Press Operator. Williams was a skilled pressman, who trained others in the printing industry and printed publications including the award-winning Seattle Medium Newspaper, Korean Times and other weekly publications. He also worked as a Maintenance Technician for Rainier Beach McDonald’s in Seattle. After moving back to Waynesboro, he was employed with Federal Paper Board of Augusta, Georgia.
Williams joined, was baptized and was a faithful member of Forest Hill Baptist Church of Keysville, Georgia. A devout Christian believer, Hubert attended many churches in the Burke County area including Mt. Olive AME Church of Waynesboro.
Williams leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted, wife Annette Williams of Waynesboro, three sons, Hubert Williams II, Brandon Williams, and Antonio Rodriquez Norman, a daughter, Canntra N. Hanton (Reginal), all of Waynesboro, Georgia.
Williams’ brothers and sisters are left to grieve his transitioning and Celebrate his Life including: Priscilla W. Hailey, Fort Washington, Maryland; Charles E. Bennett, Homestead, Florida; W. Larry Williams; (Francine) Seattle & Jacksonville, Florida; Thomas J. Williams (Mary) Seattle, WA; James Malcolm Williams (Susana) Seattle, WA; Tammy W. Greene (Derrick), Hephzibah, Georgia. Sisters in law: Hazel Jones, Annie Walker, Doretha Ellison, Donna Ellison and the late Joanne Walker, all of Waynesboro, GA and brothers in law: Israel Walker (Chevone) and Ronnie Ellison, Augusta, GA. Two adopted sisters: Essie Jenkins and Mae Bell Jenkins, Waynesboro, GA.
He also leaves two Aunts, Dorothy Anderson of Miami, Florida and Mattie Pearl Fletcher of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends from Waynesboro to Seattle.
Williams’ funeral will be held Sept. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Keysville, GA. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 8 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Phinazee & Son Funeral Home, 404 W. 8th Street, Waynesboro, Georgia 30830.
