Francis Ngannou hasn’t been in the cage since defeating Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision in early 2022. That fight wound up being the Cameroonian’s last bout in UFC, as he left the company soon afterward. In early 2023, the former heavyweight champion signed with the PFL (Professional Fighters League). Ngannou had spent the past 18 months in the boxing ring And now he’s back in MMA, with Ngannou facing Renan Ferreira in his PFL debut this weekend in Saudi Arabia, in the modestly named “Battle of the Giant: Brace for Impact”. The 38-year-old remains supremely confident, as he’s been telling World Sport’s Patrick Snell.
