Tari Eason scored a game-high 26 points, while freshman Jaylin Stewart scored 15 points as the Garfield Bulldogs advanced to the WIAA State Boys 3A Basketball Tournament semifinals with a dominant performance against Marysville-Pilchuck Thursday morning at the Tacoma Dome.
Garfield got rolling early as they went on a 12-0 run in the first quarter to take a 15-2 lead. In the second quarter, Marysville Pilchuck closed the gap to 20-17 before Stewart hit two consecutive three-point field goals to give the Bulldogs the boost they needed as they went into halftime leading 34-23.
Garfield opened the second half with an 11-0 run and never looked back as they increased their lead to 45-23, as the went on to win the game 74-53.
With the win, Garfield advances to a semifinal matchup against Eastside Catholic, who defeated Wilson, 76-52, in a quarterfinal matchup.
