Garfield Football Falls To Marysville-Pilchuck, 52-21

Garfield quarterback EJ Caminong completed 13 of 20 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns, including two touchdown passes to Jacolby Cochran (5 rec, 169 yards, 2 TDs), but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs lost their WIAA 3A state quarterfinal matchup against Marysville-Pilchuck, 52-21.

After trailing 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, Marysville-Pilchuck exploded for 31 second quarter points as they took a commanding 31-14 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Garfield finished the season 6-4 and now, with a young team that got a lot of experience this year, look to build upon their success next year.

Caminong finished the season completing 83 passes for 1,577 yards and 15 touchdowns, while Cochran finished the year with 43 receptions for 1,124 yards and 11 touchdowns. Reon Hampton was the Bulldogs’ leading rusher with 128 carries for 881 yards and 9 touchdowns on the season.
