Gladys Joan Gratton was born to James and Dorothy Gratton in Ellensburg, WA. The family relocated to Seattle, WA, in 1957, where Gratton graduated from Garfield High in 1958. A significant part of her life was her modeling career, which she pursued for many years. In 1965, Gratton married Thomas Kennedy. She dedicated 27 years to Safeway before retiring, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to both the company and the community.

She was known for her infectious smile and vibrant spirit, which brought joy to everyone she encountered. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and ability to light up a room made her a cherished presence in the lives of her family, friends, and community.

Gratton passed away on September 13, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Gratton, and her sisters, Dorothy Beard and Patricia Gratton.

She is survived by her brothers, Jim (Margaret) Gratton and Jerry (Donna) Gratton; her sisters, Sally (Don) Jackson, Nancy Gratton, Peggy Gratton, and Brenda Milas; her cousin, Stanley Friendship; and a host of other relatives and friends. At her request, there will be no memorial service.
