White House: Federal Firings ‘Likely Going To Be In The Thousands’

The federal government remains shut down after a deadlocked Congress failed to reach a funding deal. Although layoffs have not been part of shutdowns in past administrations, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said federal worker layoffs are “likely going to be in the thousands” if the government remains shut down.
