Seattle International Film Festival: If I Go Will They Miss Me

In Watts, under the roar of LAX flight paths, young “Little Ant” (Bodhi Dell) escapes reality through Greek mythology, envisioning himself as Pegasus. Director Walter Thompson-Hernández delivers a lyrical exploration of intergenerational trauma as the boy seeks connection with his distant father (J. Alphonse Nicholson). Echoing Moonlight, this visually stunning debut—grounded by a remarkable Danielle Brooks—uses “dreamy logic” to craft an empathic, evocative portrait of Black fatherhood and soaring imagination.

Showtimes: Tuesday, May 12th  and 13th, 2026, 6pm at the SIFF Film Center
