Gwen Allen-Carston is the owner of C&G Hair and Beauty Supply in Kent, WA. She is also the Executive Director of the Kent Black Action Commission, an organization that promotes the social, political, economic, spiritual and educational conditions of the Black Community in Kent, and the South King County Region.

Carston is a staunch supporter of all fair and equitable, especially when it comes to The Black/African American Community. In her desire to see and be change in the city of Kent, Carston ran and campaigned for a seat on the Kent City Council in 2011. That was the beginning of her relationship building with the people who are making the decisions and working to change the face of those who do not represent the entire diverse community in Kent.

She sits on numerous Advisory Councils to the Mayor and now a member of the new Community Task Force for the Kent Police.
