He was an active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church Usher Ministry. He has also been a member of several community organizations including: The Pacific Northwest Searcher Club, The Royal Esquire Club, The Seattle Jaycees, The Hobbs Chamber of Commerce; and he coached the little league baseball team sponsored by the PNW Searchers.He loved cooking and entertaining family and friends and loved “joking” with them. He could listen to “jazz” music all day. He was a “champ” at dominoes. He was well-known for his Bosalino and Stetson hats. He is survived by his wife Alberta Howard, one brother, Willie Norris, daughters; Veronica Calbourn, D’jomme Howard; and one son, Efrem Howard, eight grandchildren; Marquise Howard, Alkeisha Calbourn, Kianna Calbourn, Nyiah Howard, Leon Howard, Sydney Jimerson, Isaac Fujioka, and Darius Howard, and one granddaughter Monica Howard. He will be sorely missed by his many relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Fri., Feb. 7, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church; 1634 19th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122. Viewing will be Thurs., Feb. 6, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Southwest Mortuary, 9021 Rainier Ave. So., Seattle, WA 98118.
