HEIR Odd (6U) 18, CD Panthers 0
The HEIR 6U team had a great day against the CD Panthers, as their relentless defense made things difficult for the Panthers. HEIR’s Jakari Foster recorded 5 sacks and 3 tackles, while Leviticus Latavao had a sack and a tackle, and Jaylen Mitchell finished the day with 3 sacks and 4 tackles. In addition, Izeyah Faagai had a couple of sacks, Marcus Marshall recorded 2 tackles of his own, and Kainoa Nellams, Akeem Smith II, and Kyreese Brown all registered multiple tackles, while King Kano Stevens had a forced fumble and recovery.
The offense also had a great day, with quarterback Jaylen Mitchell leading the squad with 3 touchdowns, while Ky’Mani Morton, Kainoa Nellams, La’Khai Laster, and Derrick Jones III kept the Panthers’ defense off-balanced with big runs. Mitchell also connected with Mitchell on 3rd and long as HEIR shut out the CD Panthers 18-0.
5 Star Cougars 32, Benson Bruins 14
The Benson Bruins fell to 5 Star Cougars 32-14 in a hard-fought battle. Benson’s defense put forth a tremendous effort as the game went on, but it was not enough to get the win. The Bruins’ Malakai Armstead scored on two long touchdown runs to get his team back into the game. Unfortunately, the Bruins had three touchdowns called back due to offensive penalties.
