ICE Arrests Four Criminal Immigrants In Seattle Amid Controversy

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently apprehended four undocumented immigrants with serious criminal backgrounds, including charges and convictions related to sexual assault, some involving minors. This news may not receive extensive coverage in Seattle’s left-leaning media, as it contradicts narratives often promoted by local Democrats.

On January 30, ICE Seattle arrested 47-year-old Pedro Garcia-Lopez, a Mexican national, who faces charges of theft, lewd acts with a child under 14, and sexual battery. On the same day in Lynden, 22-year-old Guatemalan national Rubi Jeronimo Cruz was taken into custody; he has previous convictions for DUI with reckless driving and has now been charged with child rape.

The day prior, ICE apprehended 40-year-old Manuel De Jesus Zavala-Martinez from El Salvador, who has a history of criminal convictions, including assault with sexual motivation and assault with a deadly weapon. Additionally, 29-year-old Indian national Jaspal Singh was also detained and is undergoing deportation proceedings after being charged with assault with sexual motivation.

Despite the severity of these arrests, local media coverage has been minimal, as outlets focus on other stories that may not accurately reflect the current situation regarding crime and immigration enforcement.

On January 27, Governor Ferguson addressed the community at El Centro de la Raza, shortly before signing one of his first executive orders aimed at protecting children who could be affected by federal immigration actions against their parents. This order specifies that schools and religious institutions are no longer considered safe havens from immigration enforcement.

Following the inauguration of President Donald Trump on January 20, a policy reversal allowed for increased ICE operations near so-called “sensitive locations.” While Washington state remains a sanctuary for many undocumented immigrants, the heightened enforcement has led some to reconsider their daily activities and interactions with law enforcement.
