“I believe that it is really quite unfair, because, throughout the times of history, every single person that has come through this country has come legally, and that comes through also with visas and stuff. So, ultimately, if they’re legally here, coming through with a visa, then I see no problem with it. But if they’re coming through in unlawful ways, I believe they should be sent back, because we can’t regulate every single person that comes through.”

“I don’t think that it’s right, because I think everybody deserves a chance to learn, and I feel the best way to learn and to grasp a lot of knowledge is by traveling and seeing different parts of the world and different minds of people. So, I thought that would be pretty messed up to take away their right to live [in the U.S.], because, like me, as a person who really loves Mandarin and Chinese culture, I would love to go to China to see their culture and to be able to learn different things.”

“I find that what Donald Trump is doing right now with international students isn’t right at all. I believe everyone deserves a chance at education, not just here, but it’s been taken away as a central part of our connection. What the international students bring to our community and our education system actually [is impactful because they bring a whole different perspective in how we look at things and solve problems]. All in all, it shouldn’t be done.”

“I think it’s sad. I think it’s really sad, because you’ve got a lot of gifted students that are coming from third-world countries, that earn these scholarships, and to revoke them and have them go back is sad. They come here to do better for their countries, and I think it’s kind of like a slap in the face for them.”

“I have a variety of thoughts. On one hand, I take it as a promising sign that liberation movements today are working and need to continue growing. Trump wouldn’t be attacking pro-Palestine organizers if the movements weren’t working. On the other hand, I find it to be a concerning abuse of power that is quite literally not legal. I hate that folks who are just trying to get an education and fighting for the liberation of others are being attacked, while Musk, whose own brother has shared that they came to the U.S. illegally, gets to run amuck. It’s hypocritical.”

“It’s evil, corrupt, and outrageous. Education should be free here, especially for African Americans. Coming from a third-generation Seattleite born and raised in a historical neighborhood such as the Central District, what they’re doing to our international brothers and sisters is outrageous. But also, right here at home, we should have access to free education and health care, so yeah, it’s outrageous and horrific.”
