In Loving Memory Of Margaret Genell Tate

Margaret Genell Tate was born April 27, 1935 (Sunrise) and passed on January 3, 2022 (Sunset). Tate was the youngest of two daughters born to Pretus & Matilda Dawkins in Farmersville, LA. As a graduate of Farmerville High School, she matriculated to Grambling State University where she met her husband, Willis Tate at 17 years of age.

The two celebrated 65 years together on New Year’s Eve and raised four sons in the Seattle metropolitan area and Mercer Island, WA. 

Tate graduated from Seattle University and held positions within King County before her retirement. Many who know Tate will be reminded of her love for God, family, fashion and generosity.

Tate is survived by her loving husband, sons – Reginald (Reggie), Stanley (Stan), Keith and Brett Tate, 4 daughter-in-laws and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:30 am.
