According to multiple sources, in an effort to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, Wa. Governor Jay Inslee is going to announce the closure of all public and private K-12 schools in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties until April 24.
Inslee is scheduled to hold a press conference at 2:00 p.mn. today to announce the order. He will be joined by Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal and Krestin Bahr, superintendent of the Eatonville School District and president of the Washington Association of School Administrators.
Inslee declared a state of emergency in response to new cases of COVID-19 earlier this month, directing state agencies to use all resources necessary to prepare for and respond to the outbreak.
