The Seattle Public Library is hosting the Ready to Work program, where you can get help with job hunting, learning English, computer skills and more.
Ready to Work classes will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 8 – March 15 at the Rainier Beach Branch – 9125 Rainier Ave. S. in Seattle.
The Ready to Work program is for Seattle residents who are low-income and want to learn English, learn computer skills or get a job. The program helps people with very limited English (ESOL levels 1-3) work towards economic self-sufficiency.
Ready to Work classes take place four days a week. They combine English language learning with job placement services and ongoing work skills training. Here’s what you’ll learn in class:
- Exploring different careers
- Job-hunting skills
- Communicating at work
- Planning next steps in work and education
Library programs are free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the branch parking lot. Registration is required by Friday, Jan. 5.
