The KD Hall Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2014, is honoring Women’s History Month by hosting a leadership conference on Sat., March 25, starting at 10:30 am at the 2100 Building in the historic Central Area of Seattle. The conference has the theme of ‘Rising Together: Advancing Pay Equity and Leadership Opportunities for Women and Girls.’

According to co-founder KD Hall, the foundation’s purpose is to create a world where women have the resources and opportunities to achieve their dreams, skills, and self-confidence to pursue them. The organization provides education, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities for women and girls of color, with a focus on three pillars for success: education and leadership, health and wellness, and community advocacy.

“These are the most important factors for women and girls today to enrich themselves with education and leadership,” says Hall. “The core of KD Hall Foundation is education-based leadership programs for girls, which is evident in the recent announcement of its 30-year strategy.”

This free event, in partnership with Girls on the Rise, the foundation’s most popular and acclaimed program for young women aged 11 to 17, will provide an opportunity for participants to enjoy their day filled with education, inspiration, and mentoring hours of girl talk.

The conference will include distinguished speakers and workshops that emphasize topics such as confidence-building, entrepreneurship, and networking. Women from all different walks of life and work fields will share their experiences and knowledge as it pertains to becoming successful and surpassing obstacles faced in male-dominated industries.

With the belief that this conference will be an incredible opportunity for young girls to connect with other like-minded individuals and gain the tools they need to succeed in their future endeavors, the KD Hall Foundation has taken pride in empowering and supporting young girls to become leaders and change-makers in their communities. This conference is a step in the right direction for ongoing efforts to provide resources and opportunities for girls to develop their leadership skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

In addition to honoring Women’s History Month, the foundation will offer two educational opportunities for Seattle-area women. First, they’ll explore the gender wage gap crisis, and according to a 2021 report by the World Economic Forum, it will take up to 268 years to close the gap in economic participation and opportunity. Second, the foundation will help participants learn how to fight against human sex trafficking, one of the Girls on the Rise advocacy areas, as the program looks to help end the crisis globally with awareness.

Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history, to which the KD Hall Foundation dedicates philanthropy, education, and application-based learning to our adolescent girls. Co-Founder KD Hall expressed, “I hope to connect with diverse girls and their support systems on Saturday, March 25, 2023.”
