Kent Black Action Commission To Host Candidates Forums

The Kent Black Action Commission (KBAC) will host two candidate’s forums prior to the November General Election. Both forums will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kent Commons – 525 4th Ave N. in Kent.

According to KBAC, candidates for Mayor of Kent, the Kent City Council, County Sheriff and School board have been invited. Due to the size of this year’s field, two separate forums will be held to provide ample time for candidates to speak. The first forum – featuring candidates for County Sheriff, School Board and Mayor – will take place on Fri., Oct. 13. The second forum – featuring candidates running for city council – will take place on Fri., Oct. 20.

The forums, which will be moderated and allow attendees to submit questions, are an excellent opportunity for citizens of Kent to gain first-hand knowledge of the people that are vying to hold public office and to represent your interest.

The event is free and open to the public, and all residents of Kent, King County and other interested parties are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
