King County Elections will hold a special candidate filing period for those offices that drew no candidates during the regular filing period in May 2021. The offices subject to the special filing period are:
- Skykomish School District No. 404, Director Position No. 4
- Tukwila School District No. 406, Director District No. 1
- King County Fire Protection District No. 24, Commissioner Position No. 1
- King County Fire Protection District No. 24, Commissioner Position No. 2
- King County Fire Protection District No. 24, Commissioner Position No. 3
- King County Fire Protection District No. 31, Commissioner Position No. 2
- King County Fire Protection District No. 31, Commissioner Position No. 3
- King County Water District No. 1, Commissioner Position No. 3
- Vashon Sewer District, Commissioner Position No. 3
The special filing period lasts from August 4 at 8:30 am to August 6 at 4:30 pm. Candidates can file online or submit a Declaration of Candidacy in person at Elections Headquarters in Renton. There are no filing fees for these positions.
All candidates will appear on the November 2 General Election ballot. Candidates can find more information about running for office on the King County Elections website.
