Mayor’s Office For Senior Citizens Offers Information On Health Insurance

The Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens is now hosting the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) program. The program, which is part of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner, provides trained volunteers to assist the public with free, unbiased, and confidential assistance with Medicare and health care choices.

Senior Services sponsors the program in King County. The Mayor’s Office for SeniorCitizens is part of the Seattle Human Services Department.

Washington state’s SHIBA can help you:
* Understand your health care coverage options and rights
* Evaluate and compare health insurance plans
* Report health care fraud and abuse
