Freshman Scores Five Touchdowns To Lead O’Dea Over Blanchet
O’Dea slammed the door on a Blanchet comeback on the strength of a five touchdown performance by freshman running back Jason Brown. Trailing 27-7 in the third quarter, the Braves’ Jack Prohaska intercepted a pass to give Blanchet the ball at the O’Dea 39 yard line. Blanchet capitalized on the turnover as Henry Johnson connected with Griffin Knowles on a 39-yard touchdown pass with 8 minutes left in the quarter. Henry then followed up with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Kade Bergman to pull the Braves to within 6 points, at 27-21, with three minutes left in the third quarter. The Irish then went on a 19-0 run, which included two touchdown runs by Brown (19 yards, 35 yards) and a 12-yard touchdown run by Tajj Dyles, to give O’Dea a commanding 47-21 lead with 6 minutes left in the game. Blanchet would round out the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Henry to Berman. Final Score: O’Dea 47, Blanchet 28.

Seattle Prep Upends Top-Ranked Eastside Catholic
Seattle Prep won their third straight game with a 20-7 victory over Eastside Catholic, the #1-ranked team in the state. With the scored tied 7-7, Seattle Prep’s Kendin Alexander returned a kickoff 84-yards for a touchdown to give the Panthers a 14-7 lead. Senior kicker Sam Carlson closed out the scoring for the Panthers with two, fourth quarter field goals. Final Score: Seattle Prep 20, Eastside Catholic 7.
Blocked PAT Ends Garfield Comeback Attempt
The Beavers held off the Bulldogs’ last-minute heroics to claim a 28-27 win over Garfield. Trailing 28-21, The Bulldogs scored a touchdown with two seconds left in the game. Originally, Garfield looked like they were going to attempt a 2-point conversion for the win, but after a delay of game penalty the Bulldogs settled on an extra-point attempt to send the game into overtime. Ballard blocked the extra point attempt and walked off with a hard-fought victory over Garfield.
