Central Valley 40, Garfield 39
The Bulldogs held a 33-14 lead going into the fourth quarter, however Central Valley scored three fourth quarter touchdowns to tie the game at 33-33. The Bulldogs took a 39-33 lead with 2:58 left in the game as running back Avery Morrow scored on a 7-yard touchdown run. After the kickoff, Central Valley took control of the ball on their own 19 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Bears’ quarterback Matt Gabbert connected with receiver Cameron Sheley on an 81-yard touchdown pass, with the successful extra-point attempt being the difference in the game. Garfield quarterback Javon Tade completed 15 of 30 passes for 266 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. The Bulldogs’ Tierre Monroe had three catches for 114 yards and a touchdown, while Morrow led all rushers with 15 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Gabbert finished the game completing 27 of 36 passes for 342 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. The Bear’s Sheley finished the game with 9 receptions for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense, Garfield’s Jaiden Mills-Beach recorded two sacks, while Morrow recovered a fumble.
Ballard 28, Mariner 19
Ballard racked up 387 total yards, including 304 yards on the ground in their 28-19 win over Mariner. Jarman Hauser had 14 carries for 133 yards and a touchdown, while teammate George Blue had two carries for 75 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown run to lead the Beavers. On Defense, Ballard’s Roman Ewaliko had 3.5 tackles and a fumble recovery, and Nowlin Ewaliko had 3 tackles including two tackles for loss and a sack.
Bishop Blanchet 47, Cascade 26
Luke Gardner had 13 carries for 147 yards and four touchdowns, while quarterback Alex Johnson completed 13 of 21 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns in Blanchet’s 47-26 victory of Cascade. Cascade running back Davanta Murphy-McMillan was a workhorse for the Bruins as he carried the ball 30 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns.
Chief Sealth 27, Nathan Hale 24
Chief Sealth overcame a 24-12 deficit in the third quarter to pullout a big win over Nathan Hale. The Seahawks rallied from behind with a 79-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Teagan Gaither to Talen Thomas, and a 73-yard touchdown run by Bishop Jackson to walk away with the victory. Jackson finished the game with 12 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Nathan Hale running back Nate Hess had 18 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown to lead the Raiders.
Eastside Catholic 42, Central Catholic (OR) 21
After trailing 14-0 in the first quarter, Eastside Catholic outscored Central Catholic (OR.) 42-1 as they picked up another victory on the young season. The Crusaders used a balanced offensive attack recording 254 yards passing and 193 yards on the ground.
O’Dea 27, Bethel 14
O’Dea Scored 20 unanswered second half points in route to a 27-14 road win against Bethel.
