Garfield 48, Bainbridge 8
After trailing 8-0 early in the first quarter, Garfield settled down and rallied as they scored 48-unanswered points to spoil Bainbridge’s hopes of knocking off the visiting Bulldogs in front of a crowd that was primed for an upset. Bulldog quarterback EJ Caminong threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another, while running back Reggie Witherspoon, III capped off the scoring with a 58-yard touchdown run to “turn out the lights” in Bainbridge.

Garfield head football coach Reggie Witherspoon, Jr. was thrilled with his team’s season opening performance.
“We played physical, fast, together and we played for each other,” said Witherspoon after the game. “And when you do that, amongst other things, the blueprint to success will always remain. Which in turn wins football games.”
