Mount Zion Baptist Church will host its annual Pastor Emeritus Sunday this Sun. Apr. 13. Rev. Dr. Samuel Berry McKinney will be the featured speaker preaching at both  worship services, 7:30am and 10:45am, this Sunday (Palm Sunday) at Mount Zion Baptist Church, located at Rev. Dr. S. McKinney Ave. (formally 19th Ave.) and East Madison St. in Seattle. This will be the nationally acclaimed  “Living Legend”, Dr. Samuel Berry McKinney’s, first appearance at Mount Zion Baptist Church since the unveiling of the 19th Ave. street name change. Prior to his retirement, Dr. McKinney pastored for over forty years at Mount Zion Baptist Church.

If you were at the recent unveiling of the street naming ceremony and received a souvenir street placard, bring it and display your appreciation for the one of the nation ‘s premiere civil rights icons. If you were not able to be at the ceremony or were baptized, given the right hand of fellowship, christened or if your life and family’s life were spiritually blessed by his spiritual leadership, teaching and preaching God’s Holy Word, this will be a great day to come, hear and worship with the community preacher and God’s Dean of local Black ministers, the Rev. Dr. Samuel Berry McKinney.

Editor’s note: Dr. Samuel Berry McKinney can be heard every Sunday from 8:30 am – 9:30 am and 11:00 am to 12:00 noon along with co- host Rev. Ruth Saunders on the very popular Truth Radio Ministry on 1420 KRIZ (Renton/Seattle), 1560 KYIZ (Sumner/Tacoma), 1620 KZIZ (Renton/Seattle) and 1480 KBMS (Vancouver/Portland)
