The Seattle King County NAACP Branch is now enrolling students to be part of the 2005 ACT-SO 2005 Competition. ACT-SO — which stands for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics — provides an opportunity for youth to show case their skills and abilities. The competition provides African-American students in grades 9-12 the chance to illustrate their expertise in the sciences, humanities, performing and visual arts and business. The students must be a citizen of the United States. Any student who has been paid professionally and has an agent in a category of competition cannot compete in that category. There are 25 categories and a student can compete in a maximum of 3 categories. Registration and the competition are Free. Be part of ACT-SO where the next millennium architects, scientists, musicians, poets, dance artists and entrepreneurs are discovered.
