12U National Spotlight Game

HEIR (12U) 44

Oklahoma Grizzlies 7

The Oklahoma Grizzlies flew to Seattle to take on HEIR Academy in this national game. Oklahoma came into the

game with their only loss coming to the #9 ranked team in the country. HEIR entered the game with a perfect 12-0 record.

The game was a typical display of what we are used to seeing from this HEIR team – Ball distribution at a premium and a smothering defense to match. Cordae Norling had himself a day by throwing for five touchdowns. His first touchdown was a 24-yard fade to Keh’ano Corpuz. Norling then found Dash Jones for a 28-yard touchdown on a post route. Norling then completed a 21-yard pass to his tight end Andrew PeaPea to stretch the lead, but the air attack wasn’t complete. Norling found Jones again in the corner of the endzone to stretch the lead.

Oklahoma struck back with an electrifying 88-yard touchdown run by Justin Alexander. The HEIR offense would not be outdone. Derrick Deloney ran the ball with bad intentions and capped off a big drive with a rushing touchdown. Deloney later forced a fumble that gave HEIR the ball back with a chance to score again. Norling wasted no time and let it fly to PeaPea once again to seal the game at 44-7.

Vaalulu Mapuatuli- Laumea, Kamari Wilson, Ahmire Rooters Hart, Marquis Tovia all had standout performances on defense for HEIR
