Seatac quarterback EJ Caminong led a balanced offensive attack that saw Malaqki Walker, Isendre “Papa” Afhua, Kayo Patu, Jasame Fola and Quinten Chandler each score touchdowns on the day. Caminong also threw a 30-yard strike to his brother Devin. The Sharks’ offense went 5 for 5 in extra points on the day
The Seatac defense was led by Paris Saunders, Papa Afhua, Kayo Patu, Kaleb Leatiagaga, Xavier Moimoi, Stichy Savelio, Fasi Kongaika, Javid Thavixay and Jose Doval.
West Seattle’s Kavaeuri Drayton threw a 58-yard bomb to Authur Clemens for a touchdown and Demitrie Brazier had a sack for the Bengals.
Benson 25, Lakewood LYTE 0
The 12U Bruins were impressive in their season opener, shutting out Lakewood 25-0. Their defense was virtually impossible to move the ball against, while quarterback Devon Forehand was very effective on offense, showing great chemistry with his running backs and receivers who displayed excellent speed and athleticism.
Beacon Hill Cowboys 26, Auburn Panthers 7
The Cowboys entered the game with question marks at quite a few positions, but the young guys from the Hill exceeded expectations. MyKing Lee played clutch football on both sides of the ball. JaCory Brown was a stud on defense, just imposing his will on much bigger players with determination and sheer might, thus the nickname “ Mighty Mouse “. Carlos Espinozo was true to the kickoff game with all his kicks going deep putting the Panthers at disadvantaged starting their offense in not so good field position. William Petty had a good game at the wide receiver with a touchdown catch in the second quarter, as did Chris Wilson with key blocks in the passing game. Marshawn Hilliard showed and proved why he should always be on the field with a good performance on both sides of the ball.
