NW Premier Junior Football Sophomore Division Scores & Highlights 9-27-17

Benson Bruins 32
Lakewood L.Y.T.E. 7
The Benson Bruins were able to secure the victory behind some strong running, their offensive line and dominant defense. Lakewood L.Y.T.E. had several strong offensive drives, and were able to get to the end zone in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough as the Sophomore Benson Bruins secured their second straight win and improve their overall record to 3-1.

Puget Sound Lancers 38
White Center Seahawks  0
Today proved to be a difficult match up for the Seahawks. However, with 8:53 left in the second quarter, the Seahawks had an impressive goal line stop. They continued to play hard throughout the game, but the Lancers ended up with the win.

Beacon Hill Cowboys 12
Tacoma Spartans 7
This Cowboys victory did not come easy. Both defenses came out strong and stayed strong all day. The Cowboy defense was led by Enoch Berry, Lamar Darden, Jr. and Jeremiah Humphrey, who made some great tackles, and Sir Jewel Glover who had an interception at a critical time in the game. At halftime the score was 7-6 Spartans and the Cowboys offense was not having the great day it should’ve had. Enoch Berry scored the first half touchdown on a 25-yard run. The Cowboys moved the ball a little better in the second half and Lamar Darden Jr. scored the only second half touchdown on a 1-yard quarterback sneak. Also doing well on offense with good runs, was Miguel Aguilar leading the ground attack along with Berry and Keivon Porter.

5 Star 27
SWAC 12
SWAC’s Sir David Jones ran for 150 yards and 1 touchdown, while teammate Miah Tualo scored a touchdown as well and Janiyah Sweeney ran up a 100 yard game. After a controversial touchdown was blown dead during a SWAC potential comeback, SWAC was unable to overcome 5 Star’s lead. SWAC got great defensive play from Ben Siller and a couple of huge runs by Wesley Armstrong.

Seatac Sharks 19
