Mrs. Arzelia Barnes passed away peacefully on morning of Thurs., Dec.13, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Curtis R. Barnes, sons Curtis Jr., and Ralph, and daughter Wilma.
Barnes is survived by sons Barry, James (Debbie), Anthony (Michelle) and daughter Katrina, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.
Barnes came to Seattle from Arkansas with her first-born Curtis Jr. by train in 1945 to join her husband, Curtis Sr. A devoted wife and mother to seven children, first lady of Catherine Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, business owner, providing daycare service for the community, and a landlord. She was a devoted member of the First A.M.E. Church and would praise God all her waking hours until it was time to sleep. She is at peace now with Almighty God, her husband, and children who went before her.

Funeral Services will be on Dec. 27 at First A.M.E Church, 1522 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
